Jonathan Ive

Sir Jonathan Paul ‘Jony” Ive, was born Fe4bruary 1967. He is a British designer and the senior vice president of industrial design Apple Inc.  He is the leading designer and conceptual mind behind the iMac, titanium and aluminum  PowerBook G4,PoweMac G4, PowerMac G5,G4 Cube, IBook, MacPro, MacBook, unibody MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iPod, iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad.

British-born Ive led the Apple design team on such projects as iMac (introduced in 1998), PowerBook G4 (2001), iPod (2001) and iPhone (2007). Highly influenced by Dieter Rams, former head of design for Braun A.G. and considered "the godfather of modern industrial design" by much of the industry, Ive's contributions have made Apple one of the most influential brands of the decade.

Jonathan I’ve was brought up by his teacher father and attended the Chingford Foundation School, Walton High School in Stafford, then studied industrial design at North Umbria University.  He later realized that he attained many technical and drawing skills through his father. .  Ive said that he knew he was interested in “drawing and making stuff” since he was 14.  He was unsure about where his interest would lead.  Ive was not crazy about computers and often found them frustrating. Technology was difficult for him to grasp.  Once he discovered Apple’s mac computers he felt more at ease. He then realized that Apple’s computers helped his confusion, and brought a newer outlook to the technology of computers. This has helped his design skills using computers.
